Q. What is a Finance Broker?
A. You may be more familiar with the term ‘Mortgage Broker’. I am a diploma qualified Mortgage Broker but I also specialise in other areas such as vehicle and equipment finance, seniors finance (reverse mortgages) and business lending. I can assist you in comparing your options and applying for finance.
Q. Why should I use a Finance Broker?
A. As a Finance Broker, I have access to over 40 different lenders giving you a wide range of options and competitive offers. My job is to assess your individual circumstances to best understand which finance solution will suit your needs. When you go to a bank, they can only offer you the range of products they have, which may not be right for you.
Q. Doesn’t it cost more than going directly to my bank?
A. Definitely not! In most circumstances, I do not charge a fee for my services as I am paid on a commission basis by the lender you choose. I am very transparent about how and what I get paid and will always provide you with an estimate of the commission I will receive.
Q. What’s your best rate?
A. This is a common question and I can completely understand why you want to know you are getting a great deal! However, the answer will depend on your circumstances. There are different rates for owner occupied homes vs investment properties, for fixed vs variable rates, interest only vs principal & interest repayments. This is why I work with you to uncover your needs and objectives, before presenting a range of options for you to choose from.
Q. How long will it take?
A. Again, this all depends on your situation and which lender you choose. If you have a deadline looming, I will work with you to find a solution, however, I will also be upfront if I think the task is unreasonable in the given time frame. I endeavour to respond to every email and phone call within 48 hours so you have answers when you need them.
