Feel Good Friday - July 2026 Update
Is it just me, or is this year flying by? There’s been some frosty mornings in my part of the world so I’ll be glad to see Spring in a few short weeks – and hopefully the start of my new home build! I’ll share a little progress on the socials if you’re curious to check it out.
The Good News.
No more ‘Contact Agent’! Home buyers in NSW are delighted by the announcement of changes to the Real Estate industry. Commencing later in the year (date yet to be confirmed), Agents must include a selling price or price range and a Statement of Information which justifies the information, such as comparable sales. There is also increased penalties for non-compliance and underquoting.
Victoria has led the way with mandatory price guides and Statements of Information for years, so we’re just catching up. But Victoria is pushing transparency a step further with changes from October meaning the Vendor’s reserve price will need to be published at least a week before the auction. After a sale, the sold price must be published, too.
I know too many of my clients have been frustrated by apparent underquoting and wasted time with inspections and auctions for out-of-reach properties. More transparency is a welcome move!
If you are house-hunting and hungry for more information, send us the address and we will send you back a free Property Report courtesy of Cotality (formerly CoreLogic). These reports are a priceless tool to look at estimated values, comparable sales, sale history and suburb data.
RBA news.
Inflation figures released in July were slightly better than expected, leading major economists to play down the notion of further rate hikes this year. The RBA Board meet next week, with energy and fuel prices likely to be a heavy feature of discussion.
Feel Good Philosophy.
The end of the financial year saw us tally up the results from our Giving Back Program. We donated $1,400 to SASSI which helps them to support women and children impacted by homelessness and domestic violence. We’ve been proudly supporting SASSI since 2024 and know the huge impact they have on our community.
Through our partnership with ReForest Now, another 37 trees will be planted in the Australian forests to help offset our footprint. These trees are a drop in the ocean (or a leaf in the forest!) of the more than one million trees that ReForest has planted throughout, not including another half million in Indonesia!
Although our impact is tiny, it’s being part of the bigger movement that counts.
