Home Ownership for Defence Force members

The Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme aims to assist current and former Australian Defence Force (ADF) members and their families in attaining home ownership.

Feel Good Financial Services is accredited to provide DHOAS loans through the Australian Military Bank (AMB).

The Australian Military Bank is one of only three DHOAS providers and currently the only one accessible to Brokers.

DHOAS loans allow eligible Defence members to receive a monthly subsidy. For full DHOAS eligibility criteria visit dhoas.gov.au or call 1300 434 627.

How can you help with DHOAS loans?

Is DHOAS worth it?

There is a common misconception that because DHOAS has higher rates than non-DHOAS loans, it’s not worth it. In reality, the answer depends on your circumstances. We will always compare the DHOAS option with non-DHOAS options to confirm that there is a financial benefit. 

 

What banks do DHOAS?

Currently there are only three banks that can provide DHOAS loans; NAB, Defence Bank and Australian Military Bank. We have access to write DHOAS loans through Australian Military Bank as they are the only bank currently working with brokers. 
 

Is it worth using a Broker for DHOAS?

It is worthwhile using a Broker for DHOAS because we have the ability to compare your DHOAS option against non-DHOAS options to consider the financial benefit. In addition, we also provide valuable guidance and advice about structuring your loan to suit your needs, as well as leveraging any other schemes that may be available to you.
